Annie is a dancer, singer and actress based in New York City.

Thanks for coming to say hi! I’m Annie. I graduated from Point Park University with a BA in Dance and a Minor in Musical Theatre.

Favorite credits include Rock of Ages, The Rocky Horror Show, Hairspray (20th Anniversary National Tour), Female Swing in Beauty and the Beast (Paper Mill Playhouse), Precision Dancer in Broadway Christmas Wonderland (Theatre Orb, Tokyo), Dancer/Dance Captain in My Revolution (Burn the Floor), and Featured Vocalist in Broadway In Concert (Norwegian Creative Studios).

Favorite things include dogs, travel (55 countries and counting), tidying and organizing (yes, I did read Marie Kondo), and a good red blend.

I also run my own Virtual Assistant company - Assistance by Annie, where I help small businesses stay organized and stay on track.

Annie is currently represented by MTA (Jim Keith).

My company - Assistance by Annie has grown since its launch in 2020 to have clients not only on both coasts of the US but also international clients as well!

Theatre contracts are strange.

It feels like a blip and a lifetime all at once.

You meet you castmates/coworkers and within days form weirdly close (sometimes forever) bonds.

You become each others chosen family for 5 or 6 weeks, usually in a new place, experiencing everything from mundane lunch breaks to core memories.

And then it’s over. You take your last bow, pack up your stuff, you say goodbye, and return to your other/“normal” life, not knowing when or if another show will come knocking.

It’s fulfilling, sad, thrilling, challenging, exhilarating, overwhelming, exhausting, lonely, and absolutely wonderful all at the same time.

Every chance I get to do this has become so special to me. This one is no exception. This is a special group of sexy weirdos. Big thanks again to @theaterbcp @hunter__foster @realshanlew @juljoy_ @evanjzavada @gcsnyc ❤️‍🔥

Having more “pinch me” moments than I anticipated recently.. still can’t believe this unexpected and delightful opportunity was in the cards for me. trying to soak up every second on stage (and off) doing what I love with this group of sexy weirdos. 🤪💋

Working with old friends and new has been silly and wholeheartedly enjoyable. Stunned I get to check off another show with the incredible @hunter__foster and the iconic @realshanlew and step into the shoes of my forever bookend, @juljoy_ .

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MAXINE SHIRLEY!! 🎀

In talking to friends, family, and acquaintances recently, it seems like a lot of us feel like we are “failing” to have all the things we want/hope to happen, happen. If not failure, then disappointment.

Then someone said to me “one dream at a time” and that’s what I’m trying to take with me. This little bean was my dream at this time last year and I’m THRILLED that dream has come true. Happy 1st birthday to my dogter, my sweet little girl, MaxWEEN. 👑

This dream is in progress, who knows which one it will be next 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞🏼🩷✨

9 months since this cutie entered the world 💕🐶

Now ➡️ July ‘24: a pic for each month I’ve had her (plus an extra for size comparison 😂🥹😍)

I’ll never forget the excitement and adrenaline rush (and pure fear) getting that first “you’re on for the matinee” text from my SM.

A lot of people in my life had a tough 2024.

I can’t say mine was the best year yet but looking back through photos helped me realize that I did have a lot of really special, happy moments and made a lot of big scary leaps towards the dream life I’ve been working hard to make my reality.

Genuinely *who knows* what the next year will bring but if it’s anything like my 2024, I’ll consider myself very lucky. ✨

December - kicked up my heels and spread holiday cheer, Christmas in Cleveland with Maxine
November - more Maxine fun and I turned 32
October - mom and dad visited nyc to meet Maxie
September - @maddym_miller wedding in Omaha!!
August - @d_gagen13 and @a_kuklagagen wedding in Montana!!
July - I brought home Maxine Shirley 😍🐶
June - check off a bucket list show with the dreamy @realshanlew at the choreographic helm
May - surprised @marygagen for Mother’s Day, had a girls weekend in Chicago with @jilliancampb and watched @iamjordan_official be a STAR
April - @shannongraceriley came to NYC and caught me telling @juljoy_ i booked with her 🤘🏼
March - weekend getaway to DC with @melgagen
February - worked with my ultimate inspo queen @happymeahl and joined the union
January - celebrated Maddy’s bachelorette in Kansas City

I may not be in Tokyo but @maddym_miller is and she’s wearing my costumes so I’m basically there with her, right?

Missing my lineup spot, giggling with @heyimjonas, devouring bowls of ramen, and exploring Japan with friends ❤️

I had a very unique, memorable, and yet ordinary day this week.

I worked from home on my own schedule. I walked with/played with my puppy. I saw friends (and former castmates) perform as Radio City Rockettes. I went to a networking event as a professional organizer, virtual assistant, and business owner.

I felt proud of all of my lives/roles. As a friend, castmate, dancer, assistant, entrepreneur, dog mom, and HUMAN.

So often, I feel at odds with the “different lives” I lead. Feeling like one is in the way of or detrimental to the other. Like I’m never doing enough of either thing (or either thing well enough) to make true progress or get where I want to be. But this day, I realized how far I’ve actually already come.

There are definitely days one thing gets in the way of the other but DAMN am I proud of myself and all the things I juggle on a daily basis and all the things have been able to accomplish - especially with so many of them being goals, dreams, or even wishful thinking at one time or another.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves just how capable we are. (Me, I need to remind myself). 💪🏼🤘🏼🫶🏻

In March, I took my equity card and accepted the likelihood that I may not perform for a while. I didn’t have an agent and I hadn’t had a single callback in over a year. I decided to make some other life plans, keep my head down, and prepare myself for the long game.

A month later I was in a callback for this bucket list show and a month after that I was in the woods of western Connecticut playing with a DREAM team of cast and creatives. You never know what’s just around the corner. 🤘🏼😉

Big thank you’s are due all around but I’ll have my people call your people for that. 😉

Waiting “until you’re ready” is a MYTH.

I’m always hesitant to share vocals because it never feels good enough. I always want to make changes, adjustments, more breath support, more stability. less this, more that. But I’m also feeling pretty damn good about where I’m at vocally.

Singing, dancing, LIFE is always a work in progress but right now I’m feeling v thankful for @jaronbarney helping me feel stronger and more confident in only a few lessons. Can’t wait to keep doing vocal Pilates and being unbelievably weird in our lessons. 🤪🫶🏻

In case it’s not clear… I like to kick my face.

@jaronbarney recently said that dancers go from “weird goofy barefoot people” to sexy rockstars in a matter of minutes and I feel very seen.
